Linking Coaching and Leadership

For a leader to become more effective, it often requires them to unlearn existing beliefs and behaviours and learn new ones.

No two leaders present the same developmental needs and no two leaders face the same organisational situation.

Therefore the coaching approach needs to be tailored to the leader's developmental requirements. For example, a leader who needs to be more effective in their existing role might require a performance or developmental coaching approach, whereas a leader newly promoted to CEO may need a more transformationary coaching approach to gracefully make the big shift into their new position.
