Coaching and Mentoring in Leadership Development
A combination of mentoring and coaching provide a powerful combination to build conventional leadership capability. The mentoring imparts key leadership models and concepts whilst the coaching helps the leader to realise them in the workplace. The outcomes are often very practical and specific to the challenges faced by the leader.
For post conventional leadership development, coaching (which is mostly transformational in nature) provides even greater levels of insights and awareness in both the leader themselves and the organisational ‘system' they are immersed in. The focus of the coaching is awareness generation rather than just pure outcomes and it focuses on developing personal ‘presence' and systemic awareness.
