Board Development
At Starr we have a passion for making good Boards great by means of Board assessment through to Board development, and we have substantial experience in working with Boards of all sizes, from SMEs to £1/2billion organisations operating in both the public and private sectors.
Boards are neither teams nor working groups and require specialist intervention. The relationship between the Chair and CEO is critical. The relationship and roles agreed between the executives and non executives is also very important. Boards need to use the diversity of expertise in the room to make more considered decisions.
As skilled facilitators Starr consultants deliver in a format that's specific to your organisation's needs. In every case we take a thorough brief and through board assessment, board assurance and board evaluation produce valuable insights that can enhance your board performance. One of the key roles of any board is to ensure that there is the appropriate vision, strategy, and leadership in place to achieve the stated aims and objectives of the organisation. A fundamental part of this means making sure that the board is a balanced group with the knowledge, skills and experience to represent the needs of the organisation.
Board Assurance and Assessment
Our approach is to deliver significant benefits through evaluation, assurance and assessment and Starr consultants are trained to deliver the NHS Board Development Tool as well as using other board development frameworks to help enhance the effectiveness of boards.
